The Market
Genevé is attacking the global $3 billion sexual dysfunction market, a market that has large unmet needs.
Where other treatments fail in performance and customer satisfaction, VEGF165 will provide a novel, first-in-class, and potentially curative treatment.
Actual and Project Market for Sexual Dysfunction Drugs

1. Frost & Sullivan, US Market for Sexual Dysfunction
Currently, those afflicted by sexual dysfunction are severely underserved. According to Frost & Sullivan, there are approximately 17.4 million U.S. men over 18 years of age with erectile dysfunction (ED). Only 15% of these men are treated at any given time, and there are no treatments for women.
Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra are currently the leading ED treatments. All three belong to a class of drugs known as PDE-5 inhibitors that hinder the breakdown of an enzyme which is essential for an erection. These treatments are temporary, cannot be prescribed to men taking nitroglycerin, and don't stimulate repair of the damaged tissues. Consequently they are ineffective for 40% of patients for whom they are initially prescribed.
Simply put, the existing treatment alternatives for sexual dysfunction suffer from multiple disadvantages. They are 1) not fully efficacious, 2) interrupt spontaneity, 3) provide unnatural outcomes, or are 4) surgical. Some are also unpleasant to administer.
In response to the ineffectiveness or undesirability of current sexual dysfunction treatments, a number of products are in development to treat ED. With one notable exception, these are variants on existing products (e.g. Vivus' fast acting PDE-5), have been rejected by the FDA (Paladin's agonist), or have been deemphasized due to safety or other issues (Alteon, Symphony Neural Development). None are curative, nor do they present the potential to induce widespread structural change in the treatment of ED.
Our product, Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF165) stimulates repair of damaged tissue on three dimensions (arterial, nerve, and muscle damage) and thus should prove more effective than existing drugs.
These in turn provide a medium for improved blood flow and facilitate the number and health of neurons and muscle cells.
