The Product
Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) is a ground-breaking new product for treating sexual dysfunction.
Understanding the physiology behind sexual dysfunction reveals the comprehensive treatment VEGF provides. Erections are caused when the nerves in the penis stimulate the muscles in the walls of the penile blood vessels to relax thus allowing it to fill with blood as shown below.

The incidence of erectile dysfunction (ED) increases with age and may have psychogenic, neurogenic, and vasculogenic causes. The leading causes of ED are diabetes, hypertension, and aging. As a result, the nerve endings may be damaged, the arteries are obstructed, and the flexible muscles in the artery walls are converted to inflexible collagen.
In stark contrast to currently popular products, VEGF165 acts to address the causes of ED in the penis. VEGF165 promotes the growth and health of endothelial cells, induces the proliferation of new arteries and replacement of collagen with muscle and finally appears to improve the health of the nerve endings. Thus it is repairative and restorative.
Intellectual Property
Genevé Bio's proprietary position is protected through three issued patents.
Genevé Bio holds an exclusive option from Columbia University on U.S. Patent #6,706,682 entitled Uses of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor in the Treatment of Erectile Dysfunction. This use of VEGF was invented by Dr. Ridwan Shabsigh, Associate Professor of Urology and issued March 16, 2004. Corresponding patent applications have been filed in Canada, Japan and selected Western European countries.
Genevé Bio holds an exclusive option from the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) to license patent #6,852,322 and another allowed patent. These patents may permit development of follow-on products involving brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and combinations of BDNF and VEGF.
